About Me

I am a first-generation Chinese-American born in Mesa, Arizona attending public schools in Mesa and Chandler. I have spent the last 20 years as a classroom teacher and leader in public schools in San Francisco, California and internationally in Taiwan and Singapore.

My identity as a person and as an educator stems from my belief that our local and global education systems can impact change towards a more just and anti-racist future. If we can decolonize and imagine a future that does not exist yet, it is in the hearts and minds of the young people who are being shaped by the schools they attend today. Schools should provide the environment and the pedagogy to serve as empowering learning spaces for young people and the adults that work in them to thrive.

My path as an educator has taken me from teaching math and science to middle school/high school youth, to being the Principal at June Jordan School for Equity in San Francisco to teaching and leading in international schools, most recently at the Kaohsiung American School and United World College of South East Asia. I am currently Director of Principal Learning & Support for the San Francisco Unified School District, high school division where I support the professional learning of school leaders in San Francisco, CA.
